Merrick School District

When the Merrick Union Free School District claims that the beginnings of a bright future starts at this Elementary School District, they are not bluffing. Challenging academic programs are designed to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of children attending the schools on this district, enriching their future.

All the elementary programs are developed to provide students with an array of opportunities to learn, grow and become life-long learners. Each of the schools in this district, are home to libraries with a rich collections of books, reference materials, computer software, videos, magazines and maps to stimulate children, enhancing their learning experience.

Each school has also a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). These organizations serve as vehicle to combine the effort for parents, teachers and administrators in propitiating a challenging environment for children, as well as staying in touch with local, state and national legislators about the most concerns of the district, and keeping abreast of new legislation that might potentially affect the community.
