The district has a new security director and he has turned things around for the better. My kids feel so safe in the high school. I have spoken to other parents and they also see the change from last year. I think things are heading in the right direction.

The Principal, Florence Simmons, is the one who has improved the high school.

You should have your head examined if you are moving to Uniondale and plan on putting your kids in the school system. The only postgraduate dorms your kids will make it to are in Rikers Island.

Uniondale Free School District is quite problematic.  As recent articles in Newsday point out that the senior administration is under investigation for embezzelment and mismanagement.  Many admiistrators have left or been fired and others still there are part of the problem.  Highly risky to go to school there, much violence not reported.  Teachers are unempowered.
