Hi there. My son currently goes one elementary school within my school district and we are considering moving to a different home one mile away within the same district but zoned for another elementary.  I would love to keep him in the same elementary as he's currently in (I'll drive him).  Does anyone know how this is possible or if it is?  I'm already a taxpayer of this district.  We just have many friends in this particular school and it may be difficult for him to start over again.

Most districts would not allow you to keep your child in one school when you've moved to another area in the district unless your child is currently in or going to be in the last grade of that school.
Also keep in mind that districts do "redistrict" sometimes and you may end up not being in the school you thought you would be in after you move.  There are no promises that things will remain the same forever!
