Wow. I'm a student currently attending Longwood High School and I absolutely love it there. I'm in honors programs, and I am joining a school sport. I could not even imagine myself in any other high school, like it's not even funny. I'm not even that social and I pick up friends so fast some times. I think that despite what people say about our district, we have so much fun. We have so many different clubs and oppertunities. Not only that, but the area is diverse. If you are racist and you don't like the district because it'd diverse, that's just wrong. Getting to know people of different backgrounds and from different social classes are a part of life, and I feel like if I didn't have that, maybe I'd have a different view on the world. When I was young, my parents were told to not send me to Longwood, and that it'd be a terrible experience. Lies. I love Longwood so much. A lot of the students are really nice, and great to be around. You really don't know how great it could be to go to Longwood until you acctually try it. Maybe you did student teach at Longwood, and maybe you did have a miserable time. I made a good percentage of my current friends there, and I still have them. I know a lot of parents are afraid of the fact that they don't have real walls in between classes. Well, when my Mom came for a tour of the building to see if it was distracting- I didn't even know she was there. We were sitting on the floor reading, it was one of my first few days in Middle School, but still it was fine. I don't think that the school district is bad, and I'm pretty glad my parents sent me to Longwood and didn't move somewhere else. I'm in AP classes, honors classes, and some regents classes that are ahead of my grade. I love how they have different programs like the Writing Club, and then soccer. Then they have the Gamers guild, and other clubs in different grades. We have hte wonderful Character Breakfast, that I'm usually a part of, and not to mention the class that participates in a 'student congress' in Washington DC. Oh, and how can I forget the volunteer work students like myself do at the Empire State Games. Oh! And we also are getting help for preparing for college starting as young as ninth grade. I love Longwood.
