I just bought a house in Massapequa.  Unfortunately I did not do a lot of research.  I bought in the Amityville SD, which I heard is not a high performing SD. Is it possible for my child to attend Massapequa SD.  If so, how do I do this?  Please help!!!!

I dont think it's possible - residents pay taxes for their school district. If you are paying into one district and using another, you are cheating the district you are attending.

My suggestion would be to call the school you wish to attend.  Meet with the principal face to face, explain the situation and ask what can be done.  In some instances I have heard of people 'paying their way' in a better school district - which would mean you would still be paying taxes in your resident district, and then paying for some of your tuition costs in another public school.

be safe, call the school.  And if possible, let us know how you make out - I'm curious to know the end result.

Best of luck!

and remember, whichever school district --- GET INVOLVED!  Join PTA and make your face known in the school.

Did you ever get your child into the Massapequa school district and if so how did you go about it?

Thanks
