Toni Frangella Re: Visual Arts Teaching Position 12 Eton Street Melville, NY 11747 (631) 680-7359 Tonifrangella@yahoo.com Dear Administrator, Please accept this letter and attached resume as my application for the art teacher position. With my Bachelor Degree from Pratt Institute in Art and Design Education, along with classroom experience in a culturally diverse High School and extracurricular Saturday art classes, as well as my intense practice in all fields of the visual art spectrum, as valuable attributes that make me a worthy candidate that, if given the opportunity, will prove to be a valued asset to this educational program. Art is a subject of over looked and unparalleled importance. When most people think of art they think of a picture hanging on a wall, little do they realize that art surrounds them at all times, ranging from the clothes they wear to the building they are in, all of these things were once and idea drawn on paper. As a devoted, student centered teacher, it is my objective to create a warm environment that inspires creativity and encourages students to express themselves freely, while building an understanding of the art filled world they are apart of. With these opportunities they will become more confident, creative, tolerant, critical thinkers, which is essential to their education. During student teaching and my field experience, I worked with students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. This included providing individual, small group and whole class instruction to students in a wide range of learning abilities. I value individuality, and strive to meet the needs of each student. To accomplish this, I use a variety of hands-on activities and different teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles. I also recognize the importance of trust, and successfully established relationships with students that resulted in a safe and comfortable, yet challenging, learning experience. I believe I would be a creative and energetic addition to your school district. I look forward to hearing from you, please feel free to contact me at any time.
