Today is the day of the revote for the East Islip School District Budget and as a student at the high school i am extremely concerned about how this is going to change my education, my college options, and overall, my future. Without a passed budget our school will be on an austerity budget and we will not be able to participate in all the extracirricular activities that we enjoy and that help us during college applications. I will be a Junior next year and I just can't stand to see the 10 years of hard work I've put into making myself more successful in school go to waste because of a failed budget. If anyone who is voting for the East Islip budget can read this, I beg of you, please please please vote "Yes". I know it must be hard for you financially, but if you can imagine what it would have been like for you to go through highschool without any of the sports and activities you did. I'll bet that what you remember most about highschool were those things, because they are really the most enjoyable part of highschool. Without any part of highschool being enjoyable, kids may not feel the need to try at all or even attend school. Again, for the sake of the children, for the sake of the town, and for the sake of the future, vote "Yes" to the School budget. Thank you Sincerely, Concerned Student

Dear Concerned Student , I have been paying school taxes in east islip for 38 years. Franky I have had it. I am done . I have to move away because I can't aford to live here any longer. I am going to a location that requirers only a faction of the amount of money to give a student a better education than you can expect to get here. Your education money goes to teachers who only work what a person like me considers to be part time. Gets a two month vacation, great health benefits, a over the top pention and in most cases can't even get fired. They blackmail us into paying them more and more and more. They scare the students like you to go to work for them to get more money.
