Do you think it's right that our elementary school will allow a Hannukah Celelbration but will not call a party a Christmas party? They tell me that only culture and not religion is discussed which is ok but they purposefully do not say Christmas as to not offend nonChristians.

If this is true you should seek out an attorney to address the issue with the superintendent. There are organizations Like FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights in Education) that will put pressure on the district to recongnize and teach about the customs of both holidays.

It's ridiculous!  But the Jews run the "public" schools and the liberal Christians are too scared to offend them.  Remember Rachel Buchman, the token snotty rich Jewish girl in a predominantly Mormon public school whose parents sued because the choir sang Christmas carols?  Poor little Rachel was offended.  If there's a Chanukah party, there should be a Christmas party and vice-versa.  Separation of church and state means that the state is not allowed to enforce one religion over another.  It doesn't mean that Christianity should be banned entirely in "public" school.  The liberals interpret the Constitution for their own personal gain.

Why don't all the Christian parents in "public" school mobilize and complain about this?  We're so afraid of mentioning the word Christmas because the "Jewish children will be left out".  What about the Christian kids?  They don't have any rights???  Even in predominantly Christian public schools the Jews run the show.  I'm ashamed of some of my fellow Christians for being so wimpy!
