My husband and I are considering moving to East Moriches but we are concerned that the budget failed. Is this a pattern we should be concerned with? Was the community trying to prove a point? As a teacher in a public school I know how difficult it is to recover from a failed budget and would not want to move into a district that is destined to go down hill because of failed budgets. If anyone has any info regarding the state of the East Moriches SD please respond.

As a past school board member of William Floyd in the Mastics failed budgets are not reflective of quality. It is a measure of value for the investment. You should find out why it failed and satisfy itself. No budget doesn't mean something is lacking in the district and its ability o provide the basics and then some to arrive at quality.

I have since moved and now enjoy life in the Republic of Nevada
