Does a teacher have to be a resident on LI to teach in ... - 8/21/2006 10:34:35 AM

I currently live in Queens and will be working on obtaining my MAT and I was wondering if the school system on LI had restrictions about residency?  Would anyone be able to answer this question, or refer me to a website where I can locate the answer.  Also if anyone would care to state their opinion or knowledge about if a MAT is equivalent jobwise to a MA.ed.

Thanks
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Absolutely, no residency restrictions in long island public schools. I live in Queens and teach in long island. Good luck.
